Designer Bio Peggy Deras, CKD, CID
Peggy Deras has been practicing kitchen, bath, interior, and cabinetry design since 1983. Her combination of hands-on experience, education, and love of cooking qualify her to help create kitchens that work, in installation, function and aesthetics. She is known for her personal attentiveness to the needs of her clients and patient counsel on the choices and options available to them. Her designs have appeared in numerous shelter magazines and industry publications, including a cover on December 1991's Kitchen & Bath Business magazine. Peggy is an advocate of continuing education and personal improvement, and a specialist in remodeling. Her creative design plans for existing space, residential remodeling work have been accepted by building departments throughout the Bay Area for the past twenty-five years. Serving as a chapter officer for the National Kitchen and Bath Association, Peggy is a well-respected authority in the industry on the design of kitchens for the disabled and universal design, and is often quoted on the subject in industry and shelter publications. Peggy is also active in community service projects, including kitchen remodeling for a disabled veteran, and a whole house remodel to provide accessibility for a disabled teen.
