Peggy Deras has been practicing kitchen, bath, interior, and cabinetry design since 1983. Her combination of hands-on experience, education, and love of cooking qualify her to help create kitchens that work, in installation, function and aesthetics. She is known for her personal attentiveness to the needs of her clients and patient counsel on the choices and options available to them. Her designs have appeared in numerous shelter magazines and industry publications, including a cover on December 1991's Kitchen & Bath Business magazine.

Peggy is an advocate of continuing education and personal improvement, and a specialist in remodeling. Her creative design plans for existing space, residential remodeling work have been accepted by building departments throughout the Bay Area for the past twenty-five years.

Serving as a chapter officer for the National Kitchen and Bath Association, Peggy is a well-respected authority in the industry on the design of kitchens for the disabled and universal design, and is often quoted on the subject in industry and shelter publications. Peggy is also active in community service projects, including kitchen remodeling for a disabled veteran, and a whole house remodel to provide accessibility for a disabled teen.

Illustrating her down-to-earth regard for her client's budget, a quote from her magazine article on choosing a designer: "Good design doesn't cost more, a practiced designer has wide experience in economy of products and planning."

An independent designer without affiliation with any showroom, but with wide showroom experience, Peggy coaches her clients on the most cost-effective resources to meet their needs and budget. Awards

1991: 1st place National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) award. Design work:The Family Kitchen at The Carolands, the 1991 Hillsborough Decorator's Showhouse.

1992: NKBA Dealer of the Year.

1994: NKBA Award, for her diminutive home office in the 1993 showhouse.

1995 and 1998: NARI SFBA Remmies Excellence in Remodeling Competition. Design work: residential kitchens.
